Dr. Fanwell attended series of a consultative meeting which took place from 24 - 25 July 2018 in Pretoria, South Africa.
The meeting was organized by the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, in partnership with the Human Rights Development Initiative. Discussions focused on two themes:
a) The impact of extractive industries on the environment and human rights; and
b) A human rights based approach to addressing illicit financial flows from Africa
Both themes are related and very relevant to AFRODAD’s work. The ultimate goal for the work that we do is to see the lives of citizens improved and their rights respected.
