Economic Justice Assistant, The African Women's Development and Communications Network (FEMNET)

Brief Profile

She is a policy advocacy enthusiast and a knowledge management specialist in thematic focus areas such as economic Justice and rights, as well as national economic development. Seeking to ensure just, sustainable and equitable economies across Africa, her skills and expertise are geared towards analysing aspects of development finance (including tax, debt, etc), natural resource governance, and the overall design of various economic models. Working in FEMNETs Economic Justice and Rights Programme, her mandate is largely centered on advancing feminist/gendered perspectives in economic justice and rights affairs at the national, regional and international level.

ANALYSIS OF THE ALLOCATION AND USAGE OF SPECIAL DRAWING RIGHTS (SDRS) IN AFRICA

The session will unpack and analyse the allocation and usage of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) in Africa and provide feminist alternatives for rechannelling SDRs to advance the Agenda 2063 and the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) to promote equitable economic rights for African women and girls.
