This session will discuss Africa’s current public debt situation and share Pan-African-led solutions to Africa’s debt crisis including the need to demand a reform of the global debt architecture, and how African journalists can be champions of leading the change, holding responsible institutions accountable and setting the agenda for Africa Rule Maker and not Rule Taker.

ANALYSIS OF THE ALLOCATION AND USAGE OF SPECIAL DRAWING RIGHTS (SDRS) IN AFRICA
The session will unpack and analyse the allocation and usage of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) in Africa and provide feminist alternatives for rechannelling SDRs to advance the Agenda 2063 and the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) to promote equitable economic rights for African women and girls.
