The webinar will assess and provide the best alternative policies that come with increased allocation, reallocation and rechanneling of the Special Drawing Rights to the Africa economies in order to achieve the SDGs. Through research with partners, AFRODAD assessed the utilization of SDRs in select African countries. The webinar provides partner organizations with an opportunity to provide policy recommendations on how SDRs can be used to stabilize African economies amid a debt crisis and in achieving the SDGs.
Expected Outcomes
- Shared knowledge on how African countries utilized and allocated SDRs to achieve SDGs.
- Improved understanding of CSOs, policy experts, legislators, and technocrats, on the importance of rechanneling SDRs to achieve the SDGs for Africa.
- Awareness raised on SDRs as a key element in reforming the global financial architecture.
- Enhance awareness on the significant nexus between increased SDRs allocation and rechanneling of the same towards development goals and SDG goals for Africa.
