L’objectif de ce guide est d’inspirer, d’encourager, de renforcer et de créer un réseau d’avocats, d’organisations de la société civile, de médias et de citoyens afin de recourir aux actions en justice d’intérêt public comme l’une des stratégies contribuant à une gestion prudente de la dette en Afrique. The brief will examine the OECD's role, the criticisms and challenges of ODA, and the principles of aid development effectiveness, focusing on implementation issues and opportunities. It will assess how these factors impact Africa’s debt profile, providing critical lessons for debt management. Additionally, the brief will propose key changes to the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) to ensure that ODA effectively meets the current needs of African governments.

Expression of interest to develop a policy brief on the political economy of debt and reparation in Africa AFRODAD calls for expressions of interest to develop a policy brief on the Political Economy of Debt and Reparation in Africa. The brief aims to establish a political economy framework for analysing Africa’s historical experiences with slavery, colonialism, and neocolonialism, emphasizing the advocacy for debt justice through reparations. It will highlight contemporary injustices resulting from Africa's subjugation to external forces and examine how the imbalanced Global Financial Architecture has led to debt injustice on the continent. The brief will articulate the moral, legal, and ethical foundations for debt justice through reparations, referencing international precedents of reparative justice and aligning with human rights principles. Additionally, it will provide a framework of policy recommendations for achieving sustainable debt justice through reparations, including necessary reforms in global financial, economic, and political systems, as well as institutional reforms, cultural restoration, capacity building, and technological transfer.

Expression of interest to develop an assessment paper on an African analysis of the Odious Debt Doctrine AFRODAD calls for expressions of interest to develop an assessment paper that aims to establish a clear and contextualised African definition of odious debt and determine an appropriate taxonomy for it, including the scope of application of the odious debt doctrine. The paper will examine potential avenues for making the odious debt doctrine a binding normative construct, highlighting the necessary legal reforms to support this goal. Additionally, it will explore the connection between odious debt and illicit financial flows (IFFs) and assess how the odious debt doctrine can be utilized to combat debt-related IFFs and facilitate debt cancellation in African countries.
