Expression of Interest to develop an assessment paper on understanding the political economy of artificial intelligence and digitalisation in Africa AFRODAD calls for expressions of interest from researchers, scholars, and practitioners to develop an assessment paper on understanding the political economy of artificial intelligence and digitalisation in Africa. The aim is to unpack the implications of this new moment for Africa, examining the current and potential roles that the continent plays in AI development and its significance for both Africa's and global technological advancement. Furthermore, it will assess the necessity of a strategic framing conversation regarding the new wave of AI and its implications for the fourth industrial revolution, evaluate the role of emerging technologies in economic disruption and security, and analyze how this new frontier impacts global power relations 14 Mar 2025

Expression of Interest from creatives to develop artistic works such as poetry, drawings, illustrations, animations, and skits; to contribute to the Feminist Debt Justice Initiative AFRODAD is inviting creative artists to contribute to the Feminist Debt Justice Initiative by producing artistic works such as poetry, drawings, illustrations, animations, and skits. These creative products should highlight several key issues, including the impact of unsustainable public debt on girls and women, the burden of unpaid care and domestic work, and the unequal opportunities faced by women in education, employment, business, and political leadership. The initiative aims to explore the political economy of debt from a feminist perspective, challenge the patriarchal narratives surrounding Africa's transformation, and propose alternative policies for achieving feminist debt justice. Additionally, it seeks to maximize available resources to promote and advance the rights of girls and women.
