Economic and political isolation has over the past two decades worsened poverty levels in Zimbabwe, making the southern African country heavily dependent on donor funding. 

While foreign aid has been hailed for assisting Zimbabweans through unrelenting economic problems, donor aid has left the country in a lurch. One wonders why poverty continues to stalk Zimbabwe yet the country is receiving at least $650 million dollars in foreign aid per year.
