Beneficial Ownership, Transparency, and Accountability in the Mining Sector

Join AFRODAD and the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), for a high-level interactive panel at the Alternative Mining Indaba 2026. The side session will probe who really owns and benefits from Africa’s critical minerals, how opaque ownership and weak disclosure enable illicit financial flows, and what accountable, gender‑just, community‑centred governance should look like. Speakers will share experiences from Kenya and Tanzania, amplify civil society, faith and community voices, and produce concrete policy asks to advance beneficial ownership transparency and domestic resource mobilisation across Africa.
